Family Services
Our family services are designed to bring everyone together in worship, no matter their age or background. These services are vibrant, inclusive, and cater to the needs of the entire family, making sure everyone feels involved and connected. Through engaging sermons, uplifting music, and community prayers, we strive to create a worship experience that resonates with every member of the family.
Family Events
Twice a year, we host special family events that allow us to strengthen our bonds outside of regular worship services. These events are filled with fun activities, food, fellowship, and opportunities for everyone to connect and create lasting memories. They are perfect for building friendships, welcoming new members, and enjoying the joy of being part of the Lyttelton Methodist family.
Shrove (Pancake) Tuesday
Join us for Shrove Tuesday, a day of indulgence and tradition before the season of Lent begins. We celebrate this day with delicious pancakes, fellowship, and a spirit of gratitude. It’s a wonderful time to gather with friends and family, share a meal, and prepare our hearts for the journey of Lent.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a time of reflection, repentance, and spiritual growth. At Lyttelton Methodist Church, we observe Ash Wednesday with a solemn service that includes the imposition of ashes. Door Stewards / Greeters

Canvasses
Throughout the year, we engage in canvasses, reaching out to our community to share the love of Christ and invite others to join us in worship and fellowship. These canvasses are vital in extending our ministry beyond the walls of our church and into the lives of those around us.
Baptism / Cradle Roll Register
Baptism is a special occasion at Lyttelton Methodist Church, marking the beginning of one’s journey in faith. Our cradle roll register celebrates the youngest members of our congregation, keeping track of those who have been baptized and supporting families in nurturing their children’s spiritual growth.
Weddings

Clive Ginsberg oversees our worship equipment, ensuring that everything is in perfect working order for each service. From sound systems to microphones, Clive’s expertise helps us maintain the quality of our worship experience.
Worship Teams & Music Ministry
Under the guidance of Jean Geerthsen, our worship teams lead us in music and praise. With the help of talented organists and pianists, our services are enriched with beautiful hymns and songs that uplift our spirits and bring us closer to God.
