At LMC, we believe in extending God’s love and compassion through our Congregational Care Ministry. This ministry is dedicated to providing emotional, spiritual, and practical support to our church members and community during times of need. Our team of caring volunteers, led by Sharon Schoeman, is committed to being a source of comfort and encouragement. Here’s how we serve:
Led by Sharon Schoeman, our team reaches out to members who are unable to regularly attend church services. Through home visits, phone calls, and check-ins, we ensure our shut-in members remain connected and supported. We believe in the importance of maintaining strong relationships, no matter the circumstances.
In times of loss, we provide compassionate care and support to grieving families. Sharon Schoeman and our team assist with planning and organizing funeral services, offering guidance and comfort. We are here to walk alongside you, ensuring that your loved one is honored with dignity and grace.
To brighten the days of our members, especially those who are ill or homebound, we distribute flowers. This small gesture is a reminder of God’s love and the church’s care. It is our way of bringing joy and a sense of community to those who need it most.
Our Congregational Care team makes regular visits to members who are hospitalized. Sharon Schoeman and other volunteers offer prayers, encouragement, and a listening ear, bringing a sense of peace and hope during challenging times.
We extend our ministry to local retirement homes, visiting residents and offering companionship, prayer, and support. These visits are a way to share God’s love and remind residents that they are valued and not forgotten.
Under the leadership of Beryl Zondagh, our Caring Cooks team prepares and delivers meals to members who are going through difficult times, such as recovering from surgery, illness, or loss. This practical support helps to ease the burdens of everyday life, allowing members to focus on healing and recovery.
Sharon Schoeman also leads our Intercessory Prayer group, dedicated to lifting up the needs of our congregation in prayer. We believe in the power of prayer to bring comfort, healing, and guidance. Our team meets regularly to pray for individual requests, church needs, and the broader community.
Dedicated to serve you
Our Congregational Care Ministry is here to serve you. If you or someone you know could benefit from our support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can share God’s love and compassion, building a stronger, caring community.
