The Mission & Outreach (M&O) commission ‘s purpose is aligned to the 5 Imperatives of Mission of the MCSA (Economic Development, Evangelism and Church Growth, Education and Christian Formation, Justice, Service and Reconciliation.
The purpose of Lyttelton Methodist Church (M&O) is to reach out to surrounding and far communities with service in anyway possible by showing love, peace and care for God’s people.

Lyttelton methodist Church over the years and during COVID-19 has been able to reach out to many communicates and individual within and outside the church in the time of need by providing various services by the church highlighted in the commissions under mission and outreach below.
There are a range of meetings ranging from weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual programs depending on the need, resources and plans by the church.

Narcotics Anonymous is a global, community-based organization with a multi-lingual and multicultural membership which is established across the world. Lyttelton Methodist Church is proud to be associated with this organization by providing accommodation to enable these meetings and programs to continue within the Church Property. This is open for any member of LMC, family member, community and any person requiring the services offered here
This is an M&O program that was established many years ago that operates through a donor fund resources where Lyttelton is able to reach to needy families.
This commission focuses on collecting items donated by members of the church and these are distributed to communities or non-profit or charity organisations. Focus Area: These include clothes, shoes, bedding, stationery or any items that can be used by those in need.
This is an international organisation that is aimed at addressing the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth, and their families. Lyttelton Methodist Church, through the guidance of the Late John Francis and other society members was able in the past few years to form part of this program by actively participating in these programs. Kairos is able to share the love and forgiveness of God to all incarcerated, interested and affected individuals and families. The programs includes spending time in the correctional facilities spreading the word of God, supporting the team that does this ministry inside and also attending and welcoming those who are transformed by joining the closing ceremony for each initiative as the community.
